Richard was born in Frederick, Md. and lived in Ocean City, Md., Las Vegas, NV and Miami, Florida, before deciding he wanted to spend the rest of his life in Rio. Unfortunately, his life was cut short by a heart condition. He died, while out with friends at a popular Rio restaurant on Copacabana Beach, at the age of 56.

Without his friends in Rio, the situation would have been complicated and stressful for family members located 2000 miles away. His friends took care of the funeral arrangements and obtaining a death certificate for an American abroad.

Peter Hopkins will present an introduction to infrared imaging seminar on 22 April 2012 on the opening day of the Casey O’Malley Associates Inspection Conference in Atlantic City, NJ. The seminar is designed to introduce home inspectors to infrared thermography, pointing out various applications available with specialized training.

The South Beach Street Historic District is a 650 acre parcel along the Halifax River, south of International Speedway Boulevard. It includes 154 buildings, most of which are residential, along with a business section of restaurants, shops and marinas.

This video is a collection of pictures taken on 23 March 2012 during my first visit to see a renovation project my sister and her family are working on.

I didn’t know the house was in the South Beach Street Historic District, so I started looking for information, and found very little. After taking the pictures, and talking with several of the merchants in the business district, I decided to develop a website – SouthBeachStreetHistoricDistrict.com.
